It’s time for a change.
At The Healing Den we provide you with an experience; it’s more than just therapy, it’s your journey.
From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a spa-like feeling that makes you feel safe and relaxed.
We offer an array of coffee, tea and bottled drinks as well as oils and other fragrances to appeal to everyone’s senses. But that is just the beginning. It is after you enter our individual offices that the real change begins!
Meet Our Staff
Stephanie Mazzoni Engle
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Stephanie began The Healing Den after a long career in the mental health field working with children and adolescents and eventually with adults. It was after her own wellness journey began- following a major health scare, that she decided it was time to make her dreams happen! Stephanie, through her own therapy to deal with her traumas, learned about Brainspotting and experienced an in-depth healing from the intervention almost immediately. It was then that she knew this needed to be introduced in our community. That is where The Healing Den got its roots.

Taking responsibility of your mental health is something that is both very courageous and beneficial to do. If you recognize that you could benefit from addressing the challenges in your life, such as, depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD or any other concerns, we can do this together. My therapeutic approach starts with the understanding that you are the expert of your life, I am just here to help you and/or your family build skills and obtain knowledge that may be helpful in navigating this challenging thing called life! My motto as a therapist is that, “I get it, I’m human too!“
Danielle Matteo
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Are experiences of trauma, depression or anxiety feeling like too much to carry? If so, know that you do not have to carry it alone. As a clinician at The Healing Den, my goal is to support folks through difficult periods and towards growth and resiliency utilizing a trauma and attachment-based lens.
I work with children, parents, adolescents, and adults with a focus on addressing trauma and adverse experiences, shifting core beliefs and working towards a better quality of life. I have an eclectic approach to therapy and utilize various modalities including EMDR, Mindfulness, Mindful Parenting, TF-CBT, Nurtured Heart Approach, DBT, etc.
Regardless of the modality, I believe that you hold the power to change and my role is to support that process and create space for it to unfold. My therapeutic approach is guided by the quote “Relationships are agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love and connection.” -Bruce Perry.

Do you want to be empowered? Reach your own true potential? I want to be able to help you rediscover joy and inner peace in your life. My philosophy is to offer you a supportive environment and to help motivate you to work through the issues that are currently interrupting that peace. I believe that everyone has the chance to change if offered the right conditions.
Through experience, I have learned that our thought process and self-defeating behaviors are often caused by trying to meet the expectations of someone else rather than trying to actualize who we really want to be. I work to assist my clients to be more aware of these negative thoughts and behavior patterns so we change them. I combine a range of therapeutic approaches based on each individual’s needs. I provide counseling services for those looking to manage anxiety and depression, issues with addictions and relationships, trauma, develop better overall functioning in life, and assist you in choosing how you want your life experiences to shape your individual perspectives and behaviors.
I have worked with clients aged 5-65, in home settings, residential and out-patient settings, as well as correctional facilities. As a mental health clinician and Addictions Counselor as well as my experience as a licensed nurse, I have worked with clients to navigate through many individual, family, and relational issues. I also look forward to implementing more holistic approaches into my work such as reiki, mindfulness, and meditation. It is important to find someone you are comfortable working with and I would be happy to be able to work alongside you in this process. I can’t wait to meet you.
It’s never too late to create the new version of you. Call us today!
